With the system InertoSafe® developed by Ferrum centrifuges as well as other vessels can be inertised.
An explosion occurs when a potentially explosive substance, an oxygenated atmosphere and an effective ignition source are present at the same place and at the same time.
Explosion protection means that the Ex-zone area is free of ignitable atmosphere. In a centrifuge (or any other closed vessel), primary explosion protection is achieved by the use of an Inertisation system which keeps the air resp. oxygen concentration below the explosion limit.
With InertoSafe® Basic, InertoSafe® PL d and InertoSafe® SIL 2 Ferrum Centrifuge Technology offers three products with which single or multiple vessels can be inertised.
The systems operate according to the principle "Purging with inert gas", followed by "Pressure retention to keep the interior in an inert state". The required safety level is achieved with N2 flow rate and pressure monitoring.
The Inertisation system can be adapted to the specific operational requirements.
Depending on the selected InertoSafe® type the control system is integrated in the system or is provided by the client.
The purge panel is designed for installation up to ATEX zone 1.
