Ferrum opens new Centrifuge workshop with readily available spare parts for its customers in China
We did it! – The first P100 has received a major overhaul in our new workshop in Kunshan, China. Over the last couple of days, our two colleagues Li Lipeng and Zack Xie have given everything to meet the customer‘s tight time line.
„It was only possible to realize this overhaul on a short notice due to the exceptional work of our colleagues“., explains Patrick Rohner, Head of Sales and Service Base China.
Recently, Ferrum China has added a workshop to its infrastructure to facilitate in-house overhauls of our customer’s centrifuges. With more than 600 units of Ferrum Centrifuges installed in China, Ferrum has acted on its customer’s wishes to offer an alternative to the usual approach of overhauling a centrifuge which takes place at the customer’s site. Ferrum offers this in-house service for all of its centrifuge models.
“It was a challenging job as this centrifuge received its first major overhaul since it was commissioned over 10 years ago!“, added Li Lipeng who had the lead during the overhaul. Zack Xie who worked alongside Li Lipeng on the centrifuge added: “Usually, we do the overhauls of our centrifuges at the customer’s site. With this new workshop in place, the customers can send the centrifuges to us and don’t need to invest in their own infrastructure to facilitate the overhaul and otherwise interfere with their normal operations.”
Ferrum China has also invested in its spare parts warehouse infrastructure to accommodate spare parts for both its Centrifuge and Can Seamer business in China. A major part of the investment went into the purchase of a vertical storage system which creates ideal storage conditions for the spare parts.
“Having the capability of providing spare parts to our customers on short notice creates great value for our customer and gives them the confidence to be ready for all eventualities. We offer complete sets of spare parts for regular overhauls as well as single spare parts.“, says Patrick Rohner, Head of Sales and Service Base China.
After several days in our workshop, the overhaul of this P100 was finished and the centrifuge transported back to our customer. On site, our colleagues installed the centrifuge and supervised the commissioning. And after a day of production supervision, the project was finished successfully!
